Samsung’s complete and utter attention is now focused on the more affordable line of smartphones. Users have been ardent to get their hands on the Galaxy A9 and with the recent launch of the Huawei Mate 8, now some users might find themselves in a hesitating position. Which has a better design, which is faster, which is more affordable? All of these questions and more will be answered down below.
Comparing Specs
Huawei Mate 8 shows off a metal unibody and has the fingerprint scanner included on the back panel. It can be bought in a gold, gray, brown or silver shade.
As for the Galaxy A9, this one has a metal chassis and because it has glass on both sides of the device (back and front) it may remind you the S6 handset. You also have the fingerprint scanner, which this time is located in the home knob. Color wise, it is found in white, black, gold and pink.
The Galaxy A9 has a 6.0-inch super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and 367 ppi whilst the Mate 8 also measures 6.0-inches, but has an LCD display with the same 1080×1920 resolution and 368 ppi.
The HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor is part of Huawei Mate 8 and because the latter is paired with an octa-core CPU and a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, the speed is unbelievable. The Samsung Galaxy A9 is packed with a creaky Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset and an octa-core CPU as well as Adreno 510 GPU, which in terms of speed is not that great.
Memory wise, both smartphones support up to 1285 GB of storage while for the RAM part, the Galaxy A9 has 3 GB of RAM whereas its adversary has 3 GB or 4 GB.
Moving on to costs, the unlocked variant of the Samsung Galaxy A9 is just $500 whereas the Huawei Mate 8 is priced at $580 (contract-free). Which one will it be then?
